Thank you for showing an interest in your child attending our school.

Intake School goes back a long way as it was first opened in 1884.  We celebrated our Centenary Year in 1984 with Victorian Days at school.  We were visited by the Lord Mayor and had a Commemorative Service at the Cathedral involving the Bishop of Sheffield and Lord Mayor.

The Centenary highlighted the long-standing traditions and involvement of the school with the community over those 100 years of education at Intake.  We have copies of a History Book written by one of our teachers, which makes fascinating reading.

However, times change and we are now in the new millennium taking into account all aspects of the new Education Acts and government initiatives working towards the highest possible standards, not only in basic skills but also in sport and the arts.  At the same time maintaining traditional values in a rapidly changing society.

We aim for excellence and enjoyment in both the curriculum and in extra curricular activities providing a fully inclusive education in an extended school environment.  We look forward to working in partnership with you as parents to the benefit of your children.
