SPRING TERM 2 INFORMATION 2022

Dear Parents/Carers/Children,

I am sorry to hear that you can’t be at school at the moment.  We hope you are ok and that you will carry on with your learning at home.  We have put together some useful links and information below to help you with your learning jobs whilst you are off school.

• Daily Exercise (this could be outdoors or indoors with Joe Wicks or any other online dance/exercise videos).

• White Rose Maths

Follow the link below to see the current week of Year 1 maths. At Intake School, we follow the White Rose Maths Scheme.  To keep up with what we are doing in school, follow this link to the current weeks daily lessons.

To access the correct lesson, click on the link and scroll down to the correct term (Autumn, Spring or Summer) then the correct week and then access the video lesson for that day.  If your child is absent for a prolonged period of time, you may wish to contact your child's class teacher to arrange the collection of the workbook to enable your child to complete the independent learning which follows each lesson.

Read, Write, Inc. Practise your speed sounds each day.

Phonics Play – the activities and games are free to use during lockdown.  These are great for practising your sounds, reading words and spelling!  Have a go each day.

Topic Work:

• Our topic is ‘On the Farm’. Can you research what animals live on a farm and write facts about these animals? Think about how Farms work and what machinery can be used. How does a modern farm compare to a farm in the past?
• Oxford Owls – Remember to keep practising your reading every day.  You can read your own books at home or log into Oxford Owls using your class log in (below) and pick one of the many books on there for your Reading Colour Band (Read Write Inc. books are on there too!
• Art & Design – Paint pictures of farm animals. Next create your own farm animal by mixing animals up! For example the head of a horse, the body of a pig, legs of a cow and tail of a sheep. Be as creative as you can be!  
• DT- Can you use junk modelling to create your own farm animal?
• ICT Games – Follow the link below and choose games which will develop your Literacy and Numeracy skills.

• Help out at home – show your parents how helpful you can be by helping out each day at home.

Learn about the Christmas story and complete Christmas crafts
