Intent
At Intake, we aim to provide a PE curriculum that pupils from Foundation to Year 6 not only enjoy but also allows them to experience a range of activities that help them to develop their health, fitness and wellbeing. We intend to offer a high-quality physical education curriculum that inspires all pupils to succeed and excel in competitive sport and other physically-demanding activities to the best of their individual abilities. It provides opportunities for pupils to become physically able and confident to engage in a range of physical activities, be that during lessons, playtimes or sports outside of school. Their experiences at Intake will support their health and fitness not only now but throughout their life and provide them with the motivation to seek physical activity as a way of leading a physically and mentally healthy life. It teaches self-discipline and that to be successful you must work hard, show resilience and have the determination to believe that anything can be achieved. Opportunities are given to compete in sport and other activities build character and help to embed values such as fairness and respect.
