Emotional Wellbeing and Mental Health
The emotional wellbeing and mental health of all our children and staff is at the forefront of everything we do. We can’t learn if we are not emotionally well.
This has been a school priority for a number of years now and staff, pupils and parents talk openly and honestly about mental health in and around school. Each year the school celebrates Children’s Mental Health Week and its particular focus for that year.
The SENCo is the named Mental Health Lead in school and has completed the appropriate training in 2022 through Trauma Informed Schools.
The school employs a Mental Health Councillor (Maria Sellers) for a day and a half a week to support children, parents and staff. She also delivers whole school training.
