Parent Partnerships
Having a child diagnosed or supporting a child with a Special Educational Need can be very rewarding but at the same time an extremely worrying and anxious time for parents.
As a school we are here to support you as much as we can. The SENCo (Tia Hewitt) has an open door policy and is out on the yard at the beginning and end of the school day. More formal and private meetings can also be arranged as needed.
All children on the SEN register have a one page profile, a personal profile and a termly timetable. These will be shared with parents over the course of the year.
The personal profile will be reviewed by parents and teachers three times a year. At these review points existing targets will be discussed including progress made to them and next steps.
All children are assessed against the Sheffield Support Grid and children with more complex needs may be placed on a MyPlan or a request made for an EHCP. This will follow discussions with parents.
